Spring in the outer archipelago is a magical time.
The little lighthouse island becomes home for hundreds of nesting eider ducks. The human presence on the island keeps predators aways and makes safe habitate for nesting birds.
Our trip goes through the Hitis archipelago, along the most sheltered route towards the outer archipelago and Bengtskär lighthouse.
Bengtskär lighthouse is the most impressive sight in the Southwestern archipelago of Finland. Its massive stone walls have witnessed some of the most dramatic events in history of the country. For over a hundred years, the lighthouse has guided thousands of seafarers along safe routes. During this day visit, you will become acquainted with the history of the lighthouse and the nature of the archipelago. On climbing the tower and reaching the top, you’re awarded with a stunning view of the surrounding archipelago and the open sea.
For lunch we serve Bengtskär's own fish soup made from local fish, archipelago rye bread, butter and water. For desert coffee and freshly baked cinnamon bun. Other beverages available from the café.

Two of spring's rarities with the same cruise
Örö
Örö's nature is unparalleled. On its sunny heaths and beaches, there are many rare plants and butterflies. On the island, two species of Pasque flowers bloom, which are not found anywhere else in Finland: the Pasque flower and the small Pasque flower.
Additionally, other rare plants in Finland grow on Örö, such as Russian wheatgrass, sand sedge, and marram grass. On the island, you can also admire Finland's largest occurrence of sea kale. The diversity of nature is also evident in the rich variety of butterflies, with over 1700 different species observed.
The visit to Örö begins with a delicious lunch, followed by a guided tour (approximately 3 km). Our guide leads us through the island's unique nature, and we get to admire the rare Pasque flower growing on Örö.
Bengtskär - Eider Paradise
In spring, Bengtskär becomes home to hundreds of Eiders. The human presence on the island keeps predators aways and makes safe habitate for nesting birds.
Eiders nest everywhere: among rocks, flower beds, by the sauna and lighthouse walls, among the grass, under benches, and wheelbarrows. Last year, a new nesting record was achieved: 530 Eider nests.
The visit to Bengtskär starts with a short guiding where you learn about Eiders and lighthouse history. Visitors can then explore the Eiders, lighthouse, exhibitions, and climb 252 steps up to the light tower. The lighthouse café serves delicious fish soup with archipelago bread.

Departure at 14:45 from Örö -> Bengtskär, guided tour and fish soup at the lighthouse
